Located 2km from La Grange, nestled at the meeting of the Loire and the Cher, Savonnières benefits from a green and hilly setting which is part of the most beautiful landscapes of the Touraine. On foot or by bike, you will enjoy the banks of the Cher, its local life and its shops. End your walk with a dinner in its gastronomic restaurant, its bistro, or its guinguette!
A must-see town in the Centre Val de Loire, the city takes you where you would not expect: labelled a Town of Art and History, it is constantly reinventing itself and invites you to discover original and surprising places! The architectural heritage, museums, theatres and cultural events fully justify the reputation of the capital of Touraine as a cultural and tourist centre in western France.
La Grange is located in the heart of a valley where most of the great castles of the Loire Valley are located! Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Amboise, Chenonceau, Le Clos Lucé, Langeais, Chinon, Loches... Located from 5 minutes to less than 1 hour by car from the house, more than twenty Loire castles welcome you for most of the year. Lively, fun and cultural, the visits are suitable for everyone: families, couples or friends.
La Grange is located directly on the Loire by Bike route, a 900 km cycling route along the longest river in France, the Loire. This cycle path allows you to reach the Château de Villandry by bike, 6 km from our house, but also Tours (13 km) and many other wonders of the Loire Valley. La Grange has been awarded the "Accueil Vélo" label and has everything you need to welcome cyclists: a closed shed where you can store your bikes and everything you need to maintain and repair your bike. We can arrange for rental bikes to be delivered to the house, or we can advise you of rental companies in the area. A fridge and microwaves oven are also available if you don't want to go out for dinner in the village.
Notice to gourmets... In Touraine, there are many opportunities to awaken your taste buds: around a refined table, on the markets, in a traditional restaurant or directly from the producer. I will be happy to share my good addresses with you!

You will undoubtedly find what you are looking for among the hiking or horse riding tours, the discovery of towns or vineyards on a segway, canoeing or paddling down rivers, flying over castles in a microlight or hot air balloon... There is no shortage of ideas for spending time in Touraine! And to get your brain working, discover a castle or a wine estate through an escape game, meet the birds of the Cher during a walk led by a specialist or get to know the local artists and creators during the night markets...
